AE&E-Von Roll, an international firm based in North Atlanta specializing in the engineering, construction, maintenance, and operation of environmental equipment and boilers, is seeking an experienced Manager of Process Engineering.
Position Overview:
This person will be a working manager who leads a team of Process Engineers in the contract execution phase of final design development through implementation. This person must be able to perform detailed calculations and act as the company's voice and consultant on the following:
Conformance to Contract Steam Performance Requirements
Boiler Circulation Design
Overall System Performance and Testing Procedures
Steam Purification Equipment Design
Heat Transfer Surface Optimization
Major Pressure Containing Component Size Selection
Inlet & Outlet Pipes
Risers / Feeders / Down-comers
Crossover Piping
Tubes & Headers
Pressure Part Metallurgy Selection
Fan and Pump Performance (when applicable)
Desuperheater Specification
Responsibilities:
Conducts the final analysis of exhaust gas side characteristics via flow modeling (or subcontracting of flow-model study) using software.
Guides and consults with Sales and Proposal staff by providing standards and guidelines.
Reviews specifications and evaluates the final guarantees to the client.
Defines the risk associated with the thermal performance guarantees when viewed via-a-is the potential contractual liquidated damages (performs technical risk analysis of thermal design versus LD liability).
Generate the operational philosophy descriptions, performs startup and shutdown analysis and generates the performance test protocols (and attends, witnesses and reports upon the test when necessary).
Assist in "Aftermarket" performance-project type of projects by providing technical support and guidance to Services staff throughout warranty.
Insure that associated internal and client deliverables are complete on time.
Maintain standards and procedures.
Support initial "engineering hours estimate" process to determine how many applicable process hours will be used throughout the course of a new project.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a solid background in Process Engineering.
5-7 years experience in the boiler industry
Strong leadership and managerial abilities; advocates team concept. Proven ability or previous experience managing or advising technical or professional staff
Knowledge of 2D-3D modeling, AutoCAD or equivalent CAD experience is beneficial
Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task in an environment with high pressure and changing priorities
Ability to delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, sets expectations and monitor delegated activities.
Demonstrates strong and effective communication skills, written and verbal
Exhibits high degree of initiative
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, sometimes upon short notice
Experience with ISO 9001:2000 preferred
